SERAC-Bangladesh, with support from CIVICUS, recently organized a Peace Adda in Khulna on 27 February 2026, bringing together young participants to engage in open dialogue on pressing civic issues. The discussion focused on pre- and post-election challenges, mob violence, rumor prevention, and responsible digital media engagement.

During the session, participants shared experiences and observations about how misinformation, political polarization, religious tensions, and unverified online content can fuel social unrest. Speakers highlighted the dangers of fake news, misleading visuals, and irresponsible reporting, emphasizing the need for fact-checking, critical thinking, and community awareness.

The Peace Adda concluded with a commitment to proactive community engagement, including initiatives to raise awareness, prevent the spread of rumors, and empower residents to respond responsibly to potential conflicts. By fostering informed dialogue and promoting responsible media practices, the session aimed to build a safer, more cohesive, and peaceful society.
