Youth Lead the Way in Civic Engagement at Peace Adda
SERAC-Bangladesh, with support from CIVICUS, recently organized a Peace Adda in Dhaka, bringing together energetic youth leaders and dedicated volunteers to reflect on the recent general election and the evolving landscape of civic engagement.
The event created a platform for open dialogue, critical thinking, and shared learning, encouraging young people to look beyond voting and actively consider their ongoing role in shaping democratic processes. Participants discussed the importance of informed participation, transparency, collective accountability, and continuous civic action as essential for strengthening institutional trust and promoting democratic values.
Speakers highlighted that democracy is not a one-time event but a continuous responsibility. The insights, energy, and commitment demonstrated by the youth reaffirmed their vital role in fostering inclusive communities, countering misinformation, and leading civic initiatives at both local and national levels.
The Peace Adda underscores SERAC-Bangladesh’s mission to empower youth as active, responsible, and informed participants in democracy. By facilitating dialogue and reflection, the organization continues to nurture a culture of sustained civic engagement and social responsibility across Bangladesh.
