In a significant step towards making Rajshahi a zero-waste and environmentally friendly city, the Rajshahi Urban Youth Council, in collaboration with SERAC-Bangladesh, organized a waste collection and removal drive on 30 March 2026 at the T-Bund area, marking International Day of Zero Waste 2026.

The initiative encouraged local shopkeepers to dispose of waste at designated locations and raised awareness among pedestrians about the proper use of dustbins. By promoting responsible waste management and reducing plastic pollution, the youth participants demonstrated their commitment to creating a cleaner, healthier urban environment.

The active involvement of young people in such initiatives plays a crucial role in building a sustainable and eco-friendly future for Rajshahi. It also emphasizes the importance of community engagement, environmental responsibility, and collective action in shaping a healthier city.

As the youth lead by example, this program serves as a call to action for all citizens to reduce waste, manage plastics responsibly, and work together to ensure a clean and sustainable Rajshahi.
