On 28 February 2026, Mymensingh became a hub for dialogue, awareness, and civic engagement as SERAC-Bangladesh, in collaboration with the Mymensingh Urban Youth Council, organized a Peace Adda to foster peace, social harmony, and responsible digital behavior among the youth.

The event was graced by Mr. Md. Harun Or Rashid, Deputy Director of the Department of Youth Development, Mymensingh, who attended as the Chief Guest. The session was chaired by Nazmul Hasan Raju Khan, President of Vision Nattyangan. Participants included representatives from diverse religious, social, and cultural organizations, journalists, volunteers, and members of the Mymensingh Urban Youth Council, reflecting a broad cross-section of the community.

During the interactive discussion, participants explored the challenges posed by misinformation, rumors, and irresponsible online behavior. Speakers emphasized that unverified information on social media can quickly escalate into social unrest, highlighting the urgent need for fact-checking, media literacy, and critical thinking at the community level.

The session also focused on the importance of youth-led initiatives, proactive dialogue, and awareness campaigns to strengthen social cohesion. Attendees agreed that empowering young people to take positive action and lead community-based efforts is key to sustaining peace and harmony.

The Peace Adda concluded with a shared commitment to promoting responsible digital engagement, preventing the spread of misinformation, and reinforcing trust within communities. Events like this demonstrate that when youth are actively involved, they become powerful catalysts for creating a peaceful, informed, and resilient society.
